Conventional products are absorbed by living cells and kill by way of poisoning the organism or disrupting a vital life process. They are designed to move from the surface and dissipate quickly. Most commercial antimicrobials used for treating surfaces do an adequate job of killing bacteria and fungi, although most have a limited range of effectiveness and act as temporary "moment-in-time" cleansers. Liquid Guard® technology takes a totally unique approach. It provides an effective initial microbial kill when applied, but, unlike the conventional methods, it also provides long-term control of growth on treated surfaces for a period up to and sometimes exceeding one year.

The Liquid Guard in Nanoflex Finish MR works by having permanent positively charged molecules that attract the negatively charged molecules in a microorganism's membrane. The needlelike amorphous silicon dioxide layer of the Liquid Guard then punctures their membranes, killing countless types of bacteria, mold, fungus, and enveloped viruses. By way of providing a mechanically induced rather than chemically induced death to the microbials, Nanoflex Finish MR is highly recommended to protect high contact surface areas such as: railings, computers, keyboards, cellphones, desks, countertops, elevator buttons, doorknobs, remote controls, touch screens, bathrooms, children's toys & playgrounds, and many more.
